At Mountain View Assembly, we believe that the greatest decision you will ever make is to follow Jesus as one of His disciples! But what does that mean?

Following Jesus (being a Christian) means a few things:

  • Believing Jesus Christ is the only Son of God.
  • Believing Jesus came to earth as a person and lived a perfect life without sinning.
  • Believing Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for you because we cannot save ourselves.
  • Believing Jesus rose again 3 days later, proving that He has the power to save others
  • Spending the rest of your life serving Jesus with your attitude and actions.

Sounds easy right? Some person on a website told me to do these five really vague things, and "poof", I'm a Christian? Riiiiight.

While these five bullet points are the very basics of being a Christian, there is actually a lot more to following Jesus. God loves you so much that after He died on the cross for you and rose again, He established the Church to help other people in the world know what it means to be a Christian and how to follow Jesus for the rest of their lives.

Being a Christian isn't just a religion or belief system. Being a Christian means having a real relationship with God and with other Christians. Jesus said it best:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  There is no commandment greater than these."

Mark 12:30-21 NIV

No matter where you are at in your relationship with God; exploring what being a Christian is all about, newly believing in Jesus, or being a Christian for a long time, our church is a place to help you learn what it means to follow God.

A relationship with Jesus is not just a one-time event. It is a life-long journey with God that you will never regret!
